  • What happens if your employer found out that your negotiating with another company for a new position?

    The employer finds out through your internet and personal email activity. Also, working with the company for only a couple of weeks. Will they fire you or make you in a uncomfortable position that you will quit?

    They could. Using the company resources (IE computer, or phone) for personal activity is generally against company policy. If they wanted, they could use that as reason to terminate you. Most companies won’t do that for minor personal emails etc, but if they are looking for an excuse to let you go, that could be it.

    It’s best to use your cell phone for those calls, your personal computer for sending resumes etc, and personal time for interviewing. That way your current employer will have no idea what you are up to, and will have no grounds to let you go over that.

      depends on how valuable u are to them.
      If you have special skills that are hard to obtain, they might offer u a raise.
      If they labor laws allow it they may fire u (especially after only 2 weeks in the job)
      Or if they can’t fire u, they may overlook u for promotion etc until u have demonstrated your loyalty to the company.

      if they like you they will work with you to make you want to stay around or they will offer you money to stay. if they don’t like you they will just either well it really depends on the people they might be mean and make it hard for you or just let you go either way you will be able to tell early on in the game which way they are leaning towards. good luck buddy.

      Those are two options…confront them head on and explain why…….you might get a raise……after only two weeks…do you care if you are fired or forced to quit? after all you are looking…….again, why?..Most companies would relieve you of your quandry, who could blame them? On the same hand who could blame you for continuing a negotiation that started before you were hired that could potentially pay you more or offer you a higher position because they thought more of you or had an opening your present co. didn’t have……use your best skills here…….REMEMBER……."When they are running you out of town, make it look like you are leading the parade!!!"

      It depends on your own position in the first place.
      Based on my common sense, they will make you in a uncomfortable position that you will quit if you have a low job position or do not do your job well.
      On the other hand, if you have a high post in your office or you play an important role in your office, they may treat you better to persuade you or win you back.
