u cud have gotten it down to 35. With bargaining the most difficult thing is to judge the initial offer that u can make without insulting the other person. Cos the initial offer sort of represents the minimum that u r willing to pay for the product. Set too low and the vendor dismisses u, set too high and the vendor has the opportunity to raise it higher and increase his profits. Best bet is to ask him whats his best offer and take it from there, or ask around at various places for 10 mins.

In cambodia, the vendors usually jack up the price by 200%. Exspecially when they see foreigner.Example $10 value, sell at $30. Mostly in phnom penh. alway bargain half the asking price and walk away. 95 percent of the time they will call you back to buy.Phnom Penh vendors stop robbing foreigners, have some shame and pride.Give them a fair value like the local people.

u cant beat vendors.. u think u get a good price.. but they will always make atleast 60%+ profit..
if u walk away.. there are plenty of other shoppers they can fool into buying it.. so.. all those stuff they still made alot of profit.

      there is nothing …
there is nothing wrong with negotiating, but when you agree on the lower price, it is very insulting to then say you are going to walk away. if you want to do it that way, keep saying that it is too much or that you will come back later, but when they take money off and you say “OK”, that is to be understood that you agree to that price as well.

Socrates, will you give me a break. It is hilarious that you, in the full bloom of propriety, seek to moralize about Americans who have far more in common with the people on the other side of the counter than any beer guzzling, repressed from Great Britain. Look what you dick wads have done to Tuscanny, the Coast of Spain and Greece. Get a life, you post Imperialist wanker.

      Or, you could just …
Or, you could just pay the woman who lives on $5 a day what her product is worth and quit being a typical westerner who looks at the world in terms of what you are capable of getting instead of giving. God forbid these Thai merchants make enough money to educate their kids! The nerve. Be a typical tourist like these fools and get the best deal you can while most Thai live in poverty. Or, you could instead help people who live without the luxuries you enjoy by paying fairly.
