Marketing strategy is the intelligence (strategy) behind the plan of how to promote a product or brand. Basically, you need to grow your brand in order to make a profit, create revenue, earnings. So, how are you going to do that? Well, there are many different legs of marketing, the 4P’s are the basis, but within each one of those P’s there is a lot that needs to be considered. There is marketing research that helpds you collect the data in order to know where to go, but even before that, you need to first know, what do you need to know? in order to create strategy/plan for the research itself. Once you have information at your fingertips, then you have to start planning on how you are going to appeal to your potential and existing clients and how you are going to acquire new ones. Who they are, what methods would most likely work, how you are going to bring about those marketing efforts, how you are going to evaluate if it was successful or not, etc. etc.
So, you have to ask yourself, what areas of marketing do you like, what made you think of marketing? There are very number crunching type of jobs in marketing (like prices analysis and research analysis) or very creative jobs (such as advertising-related marketing) and everything in between.
First know what are your skills, what you would enjoy diong for the rest of your life and then, search within marketing the area that fits you most. Then, you go after the jobs that are specific to this area.
You are in a great place because you are just starting, if you gain a clear understanding of what you would like to go into, it’ll be much easier for you to start your studies concentrating ni that area so that you already create a path for yourself.
One more thing, very important, please talk to people that have the job you are thinking of having. Ask them what their day-to-day looks like, what are their pros and cons in their jobs. Why they got into it. etc.
Good luck.

Ok, my question here is…
I have no background in marketing or sales whatsoever…But…
Did a few month work as an Assistant. I’m so determined, motivated, & a hard worker (honestly)
Should I apply ?
Wow! I’d hire you! I don’t see why you shouldn’t apply. Never tell yourself "no", let someone else do that! If you talk yourself out of something before you even try, you may miss something really BIG!
My husband is actually looking for some real go-getters who are comfortable with talking with people. He works for a company called Send Out Cards. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D., Nev.) predicted a number of Republicans will eventually climb on board by the time the bill makes it through the Senate, and negotiations conclude on a final compromise package.
Yes, yes, the passing isn’t the problem. the desire is to have the republicans vote for it too., so we can have bipartisan support. When the republicans vote against it they are sealing their fate in the next election

I’m going to assume you have a professional-looking Word document version of the resume to present to prospective employers. (The professional appearance is the first thing a hiring manager will notice – this is your first work product they are going to see, and they will draw immediate conclusions about the quality of your work by the quality of this document.)
You need to work on your "Objective" – this is your chance to tell exactly what your package is, and what sorts of results you might be able to produce for a prospective employer. The opening "To obtain position where my education and negotiation skills can be utilized to the best of my ability." is all about you instead of what you can do for the employer, and needs to be re-worked. Similarly, the last phrase "Talented and motivated personality" tells an employer nothing, and should be deleted. And what do you mean by "100% travel expert"?
The experience section has some good points, but should get more focused on what you accomplished in the job, and what results you produced for your employers and the army, instead of what you were responsible for and your duties. The fact that you were responsible for something doesn’t tell an employer that you actually did it well.
Hope this helps. Here’s a short article you might like to read:

How prepared do you feel to enter the HR marketplace?
Thanks for responding!
I totally agree with you on Costco and WalMart (even though there are no Costco’s in Michigan that I know of).
But like you I want to work at a place where I can make a positive contribution to an organization.
I’m working part time while attending school full time. My graduation is December 2006!!
I am a business major at the University of Washington. The business core requires that we take several Human Resources Courses like Management.
I find it very interesting, and believe it would be a good opportunity to get a degree in this field. Getting the right people into the right jobs, and then promoting them and watching their personal growth.
Deciding on motivational programs to get managers and supervisors working together on the same team to be effective would be a lot of fun.
I bet the problems would appear when you are restricted by how management views their workers. I do not think I would like to work for any organization that just bleeds employees and treats them only as "tools" to get a job done.
Companies like Wal-Mart that pay low wages, and not provide decent wages or health coverage for workers would be a depressing enviorment for me to work in.
Busiensses that care about giving the workers a decent wage, and that promote from within would give me the most satisfaction.
A concession worker from Costco was interviewed in our local newspaper. She was a single parent with three children. In all her previous jobs she did not have enough money to buy her children school supples, or proper meals and clothing.
But working for Costco, she was able to afford all that and even take a 2 week vacation with her children. That is the kind of company I want to work for… and that is what I am setting my sites on after graduation.
I am 51 years old, and have been working for the same company for 23 years. I go to school part time, and find it fun and exciting. How about you?
