  • How could terrorism be the best tool in negotiation?

Posted by admin on January 22nd, 2012 and filed under negotiation | 3 Comments »

I have to write a 1000 word essay debating whether terrorism is the best tool of negotiation for my RS homework. We have to show both opinions, good and bad, but all i can think of is bad things about it. does anyone have any ideas on why it is a good tool?

in all of the world’s major conflicts with terrorist (or ‘freedom fighters’ as they would say) negotiation only happens when the terrorists stop blowing stuff up & killing.

It has been USED by several major world powers to cause unrest in enemy states such as the US funding Al quada during the Afghan wars with Russia…oh, yes they did!!!

what kind of job could i use my negotiation skills in?

If someone dies in a home, can you get a better deal/negotiation on the price?

I know that is varies from state to state on if they tell you or not, and sometimes from how long ago it was and why.

My husband and i and looking to buy a bigger home, and not that we are trying to hunt down a home where someone passed away in it, but if we happen to find one we really like, and someone did pass away can it help lower the price, or make way for a better negotiation? Also if the seller doesn’t tell you is there a way to find out about something like that?

    Usually no.

You can find out by checking with the business line of 911 to see if there was a DOA call there. Obituaries sometimes list the deceased as died at home with family at their side, something to that effect. But in many cases, this information can be challenging to track down, as it is not a matter of public record.

Some states require disclosure of a death within a certain amount of years. Most states do not require any sort of such disclosure. But if you are looking at a bank owned property, you will not receive a seller’s disclosure at all.

Truly, many buyers do not care. There is a home in my area that had a locally notorious death in it and that did not stop a parade of buyers to the table because it was a great house. Some people will be creeped out and not interested, but there will always be the people that just want a good house at a good price, despite whatever history comes along with it.

What is cheque negotiation of a bankers draft?

Posted by admin on September 14th, 2011 and filed under negotiation | 2 Comments »

Employee said he has bankers draft for wages and needs to pay in to his account but is talking about cheque negotiation to get at funds quicker to pay us quicker

    I think you mean Employer.
Why has he a Bankers draft to pay wages surely the funds to pay you will be held in the Company Bank account.
Cheques and Bankers drafts are almost defunct in modern day business.
The usual way to do this is to transfer funds within the banking system and should show on the business bank balance the next day.
An alternative is to perform a telephonic transfer which will be a cleared credit on the same day.
I suspect without all the details something is not quite right.

What is the typical negotiation percent discount for a used car?

    Hi.

I am looking into buying a 2007 Saab 9-3 for my son. The price the dealer is offering is $17,399 with 30,017 miles on it. My original budget was $14,000-$15,000 so how much do you think I could negotiate off of this car?

    Thanks

Depends upon the dealer, the car and the economy. No idea on this car’s condition.

My first questions is why you’d buy such a car for your kid? For this kind of $$, there are far more reliable, safe and better choices, especially for a first time driver?

Name a successful negotiation in history that has helped to prevent war?

Apologies if the question has been worded terribly, I just need a simple answer. You can go into detail if you feel like it.

Negotiation between Khrushchev and Kennedy to prevent the Cuban missile crisis to explode, remember the Cubans agreed to the establishment of nuclear arms within their borders as a defense strategy since they lived in constant threat from an American invasion.

A really famous one was the Hittite-Egyptian peace treaty, probably the oldest peace treaty, it was a treaty that happened after the battle of Kadesh back in some time between 1300bc and 1200bc, it happened after a brutal battle but prevented total war to happen between the two supper powers of the day.

An infamous one is Hitler’s negotiation with Czechoslovakia to surrender, which they did from fear of being invaded by the full force of Nazi Germany, this prevented war between them but eventually when Germany invaded Poland in 1939 Britain and France couldn’t keep going with their appeasement policy which was meant to prevent war and declared war on Germany starting WW2.

describe a time when negotiation helped or could of helped you?

i am doing a project of negotiation and just need some examples of when it was used. thanks.

The important thing that you respect the others’ time, you must be punctual and demonstrate that you meet what you promise, despite everything and against everyone.

Assess the attitude of your customer, what he says or asks you, you never implying anything offensive, or make fun of what he says. Always looking for something positive that person and highlight it. Being condescending and sympathetic, but you are serious about your proposals, nothing is free in life. That customer feel really comfortable doing business with you. This formula is quite effective to close a business deal, but it is not infallible, keep in mind. From time to time use your common sense. OK

If you have some sources like website, please paste it.

There were several groups of people that thought they were equally entitled to the same stuff and they would rather kill each other than share.
